2. Hong Kong Fruit C-E Exhibition Interpretation Project Review

Generally speaking, when doing exhibition interpretation, I will check the time and location with my clients. And I will try to communicate with my clients face to face. As a professional interpreter, I must know the intention of my clients. For this time, they did not arrange a booth to talk with foreign guests. So, I managed to know their previous cooperation experiences and the topics they were going to discuss.

Since my clients are not English experts, I must do some preparation work in advance. For example, I need to interpret some background information to foreign guests so that they will not feel embarrassed. As a result, the two parties felt very pleased.

After the meeting, my client told me that they wanted to expand some South-eastern Asian clients. Because I’ve been there, I tried to find some potential partners for them. I gave them our materials and asked for their contact information. As certified interpreters, sometimes, we must be bold and brave.

3. Shaanxi Hotel Design Report Interpretation Project Review

The task is mainly about reporting the design status to the other Party. For design interpretation projects, the main point is to understand the design drawing. Only in this way can we interpreters follow the speakers.

And we must communicate with speakers in advance. For example, we should check the halt point together, and sometimes, the speaker will be excited and forget us. Under such occasion, as professional interpreters, we must tell his or her to retell the content.

The chairman of the other party is very strict. He always interrupted other people’s speech. So I must keep calm and interpret the content to him and more than twenty engineers clearly. They are all experts in this field, so I must be very careful.

Luckily, after the conference, they praised my work and I expressed my gratitude to him. Completing such challenging interpretation work really made me happy.

4. Changsha Interpretation Project Review (Chinese English Translation )

First, I want to thank Assuna for giving me the chance as the Chinese English Translation interpreter. This task is mainly about an interview to Zuxing Company. I had to provide professional language service to my clients.

Since the work involves many fields like accounting and law, Assuna told me some background information about the company and gave me some materials to look through. Thanks to her, I could complete the task perfectly.

The venue is far from me, but my client and Assuna solved this problem for me. My clients are multiple teams that are responsible for conducting responsible investigation, as well as Zuxing’s Singapore clients. And my job was to provide English-Chinese interpretation for them. Since it was an online conference, there exist internet lagging. But all of us were patient and checked details carefully.

After the conference, we shared a meal together. All in all, the interpretation went very smooth.
